how might we…
…provide an exceptionally customer-centric shopping experience while retaining the magic of the existing HAY brand?

HAY store refresh
Shortly after being acquired by Herman Miller, HAY had a rapid store refresh project with the intent to activate the north american retail market for that brand.
The issue? Design teams had no access to HAY stakeholders and very little time to build a thoughtful design.

solution
A simple, but effective design system informed directly by HAY founders, Mette and Rolf Hay.
I led product design team to first work to rebuild our rapport with HAY stakeholders, ensure that they felt heard, and begin a store refresh project that met brand, customer experience, and eCommerce goals.
I also coached and directed the Lead Product Designer, Emily Nagy, on her first large project. I helped guide her growth both as a designer, and a leader as she mentored associated and provided direction to the entire design team.
